The Trott Family

Born and raised in Fort Worth, Ryan C. Trott met and married Colorado native Amy shortly after her graduation from TCU and they have two children, Braden (9) and Marissa (6). A private attorney in Fort Worth and a champion for community development and conservation, Ryan has selflessly dedicated much of his free time to a handful of local non-profits. After serving on the Board of Guardianship Services, Inc. for 7 years, Ryan currently focuses on serving on the Boards of both Quail Coalition, dedicated to promoting and funding quail conservation and research from private donations and the Sportsmen's Club of Fort Worth, which strongly encourages and develops in local youth an appreciation and enjoyment of wildlife, conservation and the outdoors, also funded from private donations. Amy was a local boutique owner of A. Hooper & Co. for almost 10 years and more recently dedicates her time serving as PTO Liaison for FWISD, as well as being very supportive of several local charities including the The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and The Texas Ballet Theater. The family is also active members of Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church. Their children love team sports and the outdoors and are always looking forward to the next excuse to pull on their cowboy (and cowgirl) boots and head into the field to hunt, fish or just learn about nature.

The Goodroe Family

They may not be native to Fort Worth, but Cowtown sure feels like home to Designs for Living owners David and Melissa Goodroe.

More than 30 years ago, David was relocated by his Fortune 500 company to Fort Worth. A real estate broker with over 18 years experience, Melissa moved from New York City and made a career change once their children graduated from the famed NYC High School of Performing Arts.

In 1989, David left the corporate world to start Designs for Living - a residential building and remodeling firm, offering the highest quality building and remodeling products and services combined with stellar service. As President and CEO of Designs for Living, David has remodeled nearly 1400 projects in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex with uncompromising building skills and an eye for quality design that are surpassed only by an unyielding commitment to customer satisfaction.

David & Melissa have served on various community boards through the years, but most notable is their service to the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth. Melissa serves on the board of directors where David is currently chairman and past president. Their commitment to providing families of critically ill children a "home away from home" will help kick-off the upcoming $8 million capital campaign and planned expansion for the House, which is set to break ground this year. The only facility of its kind in the Fort Worth area, the expanded Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth will reach from its current location on 7th Avenue all the way to 8th Avenue, giving street visibility and creating much needed additional temporary housing for families of those children seeking medical treatment in area hospitals.

David is a member of the Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate and serves on the Board of Directors of Goodwill Industries, Inc. as secretary & chair-elect.

Melissa honed her graphic arts and editing skills while heading the video department at Fort Worth's McKinney Memorial Bible Church and later, as Director of Programming and Production at Harvest Church in Watauga. In 2005 she made the decision to leave vocational ministry to coordinate Designs for Living’s marketing efforts. Her love for the arts and arts education is evidenced by her service as secretary on the boards of Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts, Texas Elementary School of the Arts and the Texas Boys Choir.

The Goodroe's son, Court, and his new bride Andi will celebrate one year of marriage in March. Court is a senior safety investigator at Southwest Airlines and Andi is an investor relations assistant at Southwest Bank. The Goodroe’s are members of the Fort Worth Club and the City Club, and all four attend Christ Chapel Bible Church. The family is pictured with their Labrador retriever, Bailey, who has show and hunting titles too numerous to list.
